Mon, 9 March 2009 ![]() Missions is one of those church topics that tends to be reserved for the church member that is “really spiritual” or really involved or really “sold out”. Usually, when we think of missions we think of the Great Commission. For some people missions means adventure, excitement, energy, purpose. For others, missions means something boring, strange or for someone else besides me. Many of us remember Missions Conferences filled with slide shows and photos of 3rd world countries and starving, neglected people…and yes, those missions are still out there…and yes, we must have a broken heart for them…but we must have a heart for people in every circle of influence. We tend to rush to the end of the Great Commission or “the uttermost” while neglecting the nearest… which begins in our own heart. Comments[0] |
