Beautiful: For Women and the Men Who Pursue Them

The fact that our culture makes such a big deal about valuing physical beauty greatly points to the fact that God placed the characteristic of beauty within us. Beauty is every womanâs gift. It is a gift from God, it is her gift to God and it is His gift to the world through her. A woman as God designed her, cannot be understood, appreciated or loved apart from beauty. It is the beauty within her that longs to be longed for and cherished. It transcends the desire to be attractive and pretty no matter how powerful the desire or how suppressed or denied it may be.

Every dad needs to hear it and instill it in his daughters. Every husband needs to hear it and build it into his wife. Every boy needs to understand it and respect the beauty of a girl as a gift from God. Every girl needs to see herself in light of Godâs truth. Every woman needs to hear the words from Scripture to know what love, respect, dignity, value and honor are all about. Every mom needs to model it and share it with her daughters. Itâs a message of true beauty. God created woman. And when He did, He did so in His image and called her, Beautiful.

In this bold series, Beautiful â youâll hear raw stories from real women who are learning that God made them beautiful. Each week weâll learn the art of Biblical Beauty and expose the lie of the enemy that robs women of their beauty.

Beautiful: For Women and the Men Who Pursue Them

The fact that our culture makes such a big deal about valuing physical beauty greatly points to the fact that God placed the characteristic of beauty within us. Beauty is every woman's gift.

Every girl needs to see herself in light of God"s truth. Every woman needs to hear the words from Scripture to know what love, respect, dignity, value and honor are all about. Every mom needs to model it and share it with her daughters. Itâs a message of true beauty. God created woman. And when He did, He did so in His image and called her, Beautiful.

In this bold series, Beautiful - youâll hear raw stories from real women who are learning that God made them beautiful. Each week weâll learn the art of Biblical Beauty and expose the lie of the enemy that robs women of their beauty.

Missions is one of those church topics that tends to be reserved for the church member that is âreally spiritualâ or really involved or really âsold outâ. Usually, when we think of missions we think of the Great Commission. For some people missions means adventure, excitement, energy, purpose. For others, missions means something boring, strange or for someone else besides me.

Many of us remember Missions Conferences filled with slide shows and photos of 3rd world countries and starving, neglected peopleâand yes, those missions are still out thereâand yes, we must have a broken heart for themâbut we must have a heart for people in every circle of influence. We tend to rush to the end of the Great Commission or âthe uttermostâ while neglecting the nearestâ which begins in our own heart.

1+1+1=Simplify

The Family Church begins a new chapter in our church development. We are attempting something a little out of the box as we attempt to reach this region with the love and hope of Jesus Christ. It's a development process for spiritual growth. It's simple, measurable, and easy to communicate. And yet it is not for the faint of heart. It requires work, discipline, growth. It's liberating and yet challenging. It's a journey we are calling: Simplify=1+1+1

1- Choose one hour of worship (your style, your venue).
1- Choose one growth group (more today during the message/sermon).
1- Choose one place to serve in ministry and missions.

For 3 weeks we'll talk about our process for discipleship and see where you are in the journey. It's a paradigm shift but also it's a Biblical realignment as we Simplify. Our prayers are with you as you make the necessary adjustments to Simplify = 1+1+1. It's another way of saying reach up, reach in, and reach out. It's who we are and what we were made to do.

Politics of Jesus

Our nation is consumed with presidential politics. Who is right for our country? Which candidate best reflects our values? Who has the right plan to make the necessary changes for our economy, the environment, homeland security, and domestic and foreign policies? Does any candidate have anything to offer beside the typical rhetoric of the political season? Do any of the candidates have more to offer than merely words of inspiration?

What would happen if Jesus were running for President? Is it possible that the right wing moral majority got it wrong? Did they get anything right? What would Jesus say about our environment? What is the economic plan of Jesus? What does Jesus have to say about homeland security? Domestic and foreign policy? Does Jesus have anything to say to the United States? Is it even about us at all?

Whale Tales and Wading Pools - how do the two go together? Or do they? Jonah was a prophet who was wading through life according to his agenda when he was swallowed by a giant fish. And this is not some exaggerated fisherman's story - it really happened.

For the next four weeks we are going to unpack the story of Jonah - it's not just what you might have heard. There's a little bit of Jonah in all of us and we make choices each day. We just hope you don't end up in a Whale's tail or a wading pool. Find out how to stay out of both this Sunday.

We're Sorry, Really!

Sorry! No really...Sorry! Please accept our Apologies...

Unfortunately, while "the church" has done many great things throughout history...it has also done some terrible things. Many religious individuals, believing they were right, have been horribly wrong in their approach and communication of sharing who Jesus really is. As a result, most people (in fact over 85% of our community) want nothing to do with church or God - which is understandable! This Sunday we are going to shed light on those things that have actually hurt (not helped) people. Not only are we looking into what has been out of line with the love that Jesus is really about...we are going to apologize, REALLY! Don't miss what is perhaps, the most controversial sermon The Family Church has ever been a part of.

Join us for Easter Sunday - Breaking Free, the real Easter Story. The Family Church is a safe place. You will be among real people, people who don't know it all or have it all figured out. We are a diverse people with different backgrounds through economics, politics, and even religion; but we are similar in the fact that we have been prisoners of our past, enslaved in destructive habits. God came to set us free. He has broken the chains and set the captives free. That's what Easter is all about. Breaking Free.

Easter is a special day - it's the day we celebrate the freedom that is found through the love of God and the gift of His Son, Jesus. We have been set free from the prison of our life. Easter is not about a religious holiday or the Easter bunny. Easter is about freedom, fulfillment, and forgiveness.

iServe: Lessons at the Table for the iPod generation.

Take a tour of the Mall of Georgia Food court and you'll have no less that 5 people serving samples to entice you to come eat at their establishment. When it comes to finding food there are many options, but one stands out among the rest. Jesus said in John 6:35 "I am the bread of life." Jesus also told a story in Luke 14 about the master telling his servants to go find people to come eat at the Banquet table. The church has the responsibility to feed believers and serve non-believers. In this 2 part series, Pastor Richard reminds us of the guest list, the chairs at the table, the leaf to expand the table, the food that is prepared and served, and the fulfilling bread of life.

As we focus on serving others we find that there's always room at the table, pull up a chair for iServe, a unique two week series wrapping up our iSeries.

VIDEO: Master Plan, Second Seating

One year ago, we launched our most ambitious effort ever - to complete a new auditorium with new preschool space...and thereby raise the spiritual temperature in Sugar Hill, Georgia. How did we do that? By making sure there's room for everyone. In the last year, 400 new people have begun attending - maybe you're one of them. We've done our best to welcome everyone and we want to be able to continue to do so in the the future - that is our Master Plan.

Beginning October 28, we will introduce our church to Master Plan, Second Seating. Please begin praying now about what Our Great God would have you and your family do to support The Master Plan. Please join us on this continuing journey of faith. Your continued faithfulness will allow us to reach more people and love more people than ever before.

A new day with a new beginning where all the gray has been replaced with bright colors. Not surprisingly, that is exactly God's plan for your life. Fortunately, he has not left us stranded in this quest. He's given us the tools to color our life. This series will deal with the radiant colors from the book of Proverbs. Read a chapter of Proverbs each day, according to the day of the month, and then join us on Sunday for the message from that week's reading. Watch the gray areas of life become filled with vibrant colors.
